Well friends, it was yet another long cold (wind chill of –15) day on the caucus trail here in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. We were in our precincts doing final delivery of packets for our caucus captains and literature drops to identified AFSCME members who have expressed both their support for Hillary and their willingness to caucus on her behalf. Following that, we attended a speech by Bill Clinton given at the National Cattle Congress here in Waterloo. Even though he was visibly tired, our former President gave an impassioned speech on behalf of Hillary to a crowd of several hundred (perhaps as many as a thousand) people. We are now less than twenty four hours from the caucus, and will start our day early tomorrow morning by trying to reach every single member that hasn’t previously been spoken to, to implore them to caucus for our candidate, and to encourage them to bring their likeminded friends,
neighbors, and family members with them. After we have finished that, we will be giving rides to the caucuses to those who the Hillary campaign has identified as needing them. We will then be at our assigned caucus sights to observe the process and to assist in any way that we can, short of caucusing ourselves. I look forward to tomorrow as the first day of many leading to the election of Hillary as our next President. Although the polls are tight- indeed to close to call- I am positive that Robert and I have done everything in our power to assist the campaign, and we are optimistic of a victorious outcome.
